ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag on Tuesday said that he invited the Israeli government to be sensitive and not to permit a wine festival planned to take place at the Beersheva Mosque on Wednesday.
Bekir Bozdag on Tuesday received Norwegian Minister of International Development Heikki Holmas in Ankara.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Holmas, Bozdag said that the wine festival planned to take place at the Beersheva Mosque in Israel on Wednesday was a wrong behaviour that did not respect the beliefs and values of the Muslims.
On his meeting with Holmas, Bozdag said that they discussed cooperation with Norway and the 21-year prison sentence given to far right extremist Anders Behring Breivik for killing 77 people in 2011.
"I have informed Holmas that if Breivik gets released after 10 years, it may lead to new Breiviks," Bozdag noted.
Minister Holmas, in his part, said that Breivik received the highest penalty as permitted by the laws in Norway.
"Breivik may stay in prison for more than 21 years," Holmas underlined.
Touching on Turkey's assistance to Somalia, Holmas said that the Turks had very open hearts.
"We feel the same as Turkey and we believe in cooperating with Turkey," Holmas also said.
