Egypt Deputy PM: law that banishes NDP operatives to be issued within days
Deputy Prime minister Ali El-Salmi announced in a meeting with cabinet’s correspondents on Monday that the political disenfranchisement law is going to be issued with in days and to be applied on all those who spoiled the political life regardless of their positions and political affiliations.
El Salmi added that the law will be applied on the parliamentary elections’ candidates as well the upcoming members of parliament.
The deputy prime minister revealed that the draft law is currently undergoing small changes and it will be issued in a decree by the ruling military council (SCAF) soon.
Various political forces in Egypt have been calling on SCAF to apply the law in order to ban members of the NDP ruling party and other members of the Mubarak regime from political life especially in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
